Orthopaedic Physiotherapy
Orthopaedic Physiotherapy for Pain, Recovery and Mobility
Orthopaedic Physiotherapy focuses on the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions including injuries and pain affecting the joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and spine. It is commonly used to support recovery after an injury or surgery, manage persistent pain, and improve movement, strength, and function in everyday life.
At Allied Health 2U, our physiotherapists provide practical, goal-based care using a combination of hands-on treatment (where appropriate), targeted exercise prescription, education, and rehabilitation planning. We focus on building sustainable outcomes—helping you return to work, sport, daily activities, and community participation with greater confidence and comfort.
Appointments can be delivered in-person (home/community settings where appropriate) and, for suitable goals, telehealth follow-ups may also be available.
Orthopaedic Physiotherapy may assist with a wide range of musculoskeletal concerns, including back and neck pain, shoulder and knee pain, sprains and strains, tendon-related pain, joint stiffness, post-fracture rehabilitation, arthritis-related mobility limitations, and post-operative rehabilitation where appropriate.
Your physiotherapist will complete an assessment of your symptoms, movement, strength, and function, then develop a tailored plan. Treatment may include hands-on therapy (where appropriate), exercise prescription, movement retraining, pacing and load management strategies, and a home program to support progress between sessions.
Yes. Where clinically appropriate, we can support rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery. This may include restoring range of motion, rebuilding strength, improving gait and balance, and progressing functional tasks safely over time, in line with your surgeon’s guidance and your recovery goals.
Physiotherapy supports pain management by addressing contributing factors such as movement patterns, joint mobility, muscle strength, loading tolerance, and functional habits. You will also receive education and practical strategies to help manage flare-ups and build confidence with movement.
It can be. For NDIS participants, orthopaedic physiotherapy may support capacity building goals such as mobility, transfers, community access, and maintaining physical function. We tailor programs to ability, environment, and meaningful daily outcomes.
Some private health funds provide rebates for physiotherapy under extras cover. Medicare eligibility depends on your individual circumstances and current referral pathways. If you’re unsure what applies, our team can help you understand the most suitable option based on your situation.
